Melanoma is one of the common and serious malignant tumors clinically. The mortality and morbidity of melanoma patients showed a rapid growing tendency in recent years though the incidence was low in China. Normalized surgical treatment is not only the key to curing the early and intermediate stage melanoma, but also conducive to the better prognosis for advanced patients. According to Chinese national conditions, the soft tissue sarcoma and melanoma expert committee of Chinese Anti-cancer Association defined this expert consensus on the surgical treatment of cutaneous/acral melanoma based on the guidelines for melanoma diagnosis and management of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO). It was also referred to clinical practice guidelines in cutaneous melanoma of National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), clinical practice guidelines for the management of melanoma in Australia and New Zealand as well as relevant domestic and foreign clinical researches and meta-analysis. The expert consensus includes normalized details and operational key points in each part of surgical treatment of cutaneous/acral melanoma, which aims to generalize the normalized surgical treatment, reach the purpose of surgical treatment, and ultimately improve patients' prognosis.
